His answer makes her smile. An of course is encouraging; it means that she can probably get away with a little more than just resting on him, because if he's going to ask her why she would even need to ask, that means he, at least, thinks it's obvious enough that he likes having her nearby. She brings her hand away from his cheek and slowly runs her fingers over the leather of the sleeve of his jacket before her hand comes to rest over his and she lifts her head so that she can whisper into his ear.

"Hijikata-san..."

Her voice is a little light and breathy-sounding, but serious, and she doesn't bring her mouth away from his ear the entire time she speaks. "Will you hold me? I... I feel a little..." She lets the words trail off and shivers a little as she curls in a little closer to him. "...I like the way your arms feel when they're around me."
