[She'd have liked to have said something to Kaoru, too, but she knows better than to call out to him now of all times. She has already angered her guards and a member of the family - not to mention, Kaoru's distraction has coincided with something else that will undoubtedly bring them even more anger... any association Kaoru might have with her, at this point, could anger the Nagumo and bring suffering down on him.
That's not what she wants all.
She closes her eyes in a brief prayer for his safety before creeping her way over to the futon under which she had hidden the food he'd taken such pains to bring her. She eats the fish first, because it may not keep well with time, but only nibbles at the rice and the vegetables - the leftovers she wraps back up and stows to eat later. He had brought her this with considerable difficulty, and she has no way of knowing when she might be given food again.
For now, until she can figure out some way to make use of her situation, she has to conserve her resources - and her energy. Though it risks squishing the remaining food that is hidden under the futon, she spreads it out and lies down. She doesn't sleep (to do so would be to let her guard down a little too much for her liking in this place), but she does rest, until such a time that something occurs that garners her attention.]
