The clan certainly seems to have a way of exacerbating such things - all the more reason for her to do her utmost to get him out of here.

The Yukimura family was faithful to her ancestors for years; Daitsuren and Shotsuren, which once belonged to Suzuka Gozen, are proof of that. She may not have been able to prevent the humans from attacking, but she wants to at least do what she can for the survivors of that clan.]
