"--ah?!"

It's an unfortunate (or, maybe not that unfortunate, all things considered) fact that Chizuru is simply slower than Saitou is. She doesn't mean to be, she's been training to work on her speed... but he runs faster than her. And so it's no real surprise that she winds up in his arms to anyone but her.

She stares up at him as he carries her up the crumbling stairs, before bringing her arms up to cling to him tightly so that he doesn't have to worry about accidentally losing his hold on her, and they make it onto the landing at the very top just moments before the last step crumbles away. She is vaguely aware, though her heart is pounding so intensely, that if she'd kept running on her own she most definitely would have fallen.

"I... I'm sorry." She's trembling in his arms; she knows she needs to stand on her own two feet and move forward, now, but she's not sure her legs would be able to hold her up if he were to set her down, and so she doesn't yet unwind her arms from around him. "You put yourself through some trouble for my sake..."
