for shit to do during slow shifts...
[It's disorienting, to suddenly find herself in Haven all over again. She'd only just barely started to get used to the place and all its eccentricities before vanishing, and life had been so blessedly normal since her return that she had almost started to believe that it was nothing more than a terrible dream. But the blaring of an alarm clock drags her into consciousness, and her stomach sinks as she takes in her surroundings.
She's here again, and she doesn't know if the Shinsengumi she had begun to get acquainted with still is or not.
After a short amount of time to rearrange her things and familiarize herself with her immediate surroundings, she heads into the town to take a look around. Everything seems normal - as normal as Haven has ever been, anyway - until just after sundown, when a loud, booming noise that sounds as though it's an air raid siren (not that she knows what that even is) cuts through the night air. The other residents of Haven emerge and try to figure out what's going on, and suddenly the streets are so much more crowded than she had been prepared for.
Luckily, though, she spots someone familiar down the road in the hustle.]
Excuse me! [There's too many people and he's getting away...] Wait! Wait up!
[In a very unfeminine move, she shoves some other newcomer (or maybe someone who has just returned the same way she did) out of the way. She puts on a burst of speed and reaches out for him to grab him by the back of his shirt. It's only as she grips the fabric that she remembers his name, since he looks so very different from the Sano in her world.]
Damn it! Harada Sanosuke, I said wait!

...if he knew what was going on. Which he doesn't.
The voice calling out didn't even register to him, being thought of as just another person running around and not someone who's actually looking for him. It isn't until the hand grabs onto his shirt and he hears that he takes notice of the other person.
Oh. A guy. Lovely.
If he sounds a little frustrated, it's because he is. The siren is irritating because he can't see what the problem is. The people milling about are irritating because if something happens, they're in the way and making a potential problem even worse. The kid tugging on his clothes is irritating because... well, he doesn't really like being clung to by men.
And so he abruptly stops walking, turning around to face the kid, his tone a bit annoyed, his manner a bit curt. Sorry, Sei, he'd be nicer if he knew you were a girl. And hopefully poor Sei catches herself because otherwise she'll be walking right into him. ]
What is it?

In times like these, the Shinsengumi is supposed to stick together, right..?!
[She huffs and crosses her arms.]
So let's go look for them together..!
[Yeah, because grabbing someone out of the blue and making demands is a great way to announce that you've returned to Haven, Sei.]

And wrong. He's usually so intuitive, but Sei is incredibly convincing in her disguise so he doesn't even realize he's way off on this...
...but how the hell does he tell the kid he's not interested in guys? He's never had to shoot a guy down before so this is really strange and how does he do this??? But then Sei speaks again and her words have him immediately forgetting about the flushing in favor of giving an answer. ]
We're all split up. I think Souji said he's in building four, but I'm pretty sure it's sort of in pieces, and I don't know about the others.
[ Not that it helps, but the kid's right. Going it alone isn't the best idea, so hunting down the others may be a good course of action. ]
Alright, but don't complain if you can't keep up.

(The fact that she's still flat enough to pass is probably something she should be concerned about, but it is what it is.)
She nods when he talks about where his Souji is, then frowns slightly.] ...so that leaves Toudou-san, Saitou-san, and Hijikata-san unaccounted for... [As far as she knows from who was around when she was here, anyway.
Then she scowls.]
Who do you think you're talking to..?! I can definitely keep up, and even if I couldn't, there's no way in hell I'd complain! [A huff, and she gestures forward.] Lead the way!
